Terms of Service

Last updated 28 August 2026

LocalE is a marketplace app that connects buyers with sellers in their own neighbourhood — home kitchens, small shops, tutors, tailors and similar local businesses. These terms apply when you use the LocalE app or this website.

By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use LocalE.

1. Who we are

LocalE is operated from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Our contact details are at the end of this page and on every page of this site.

LocalE is an intermediary. We provide the platform on which sellers list what they offer and buyers place orders. We do not make, own, store, inspect or deliver anything sold on LocalE. The contract for each order is between the buyer and the seller.

2. Who can use LocalE

LocalE is currently in a private pilot, limited to selected neighbourhoods and invited users. Access may be withdrawn when the pilot changes or ends.

3. Orders are requests until a seller accepts

Placing an order on LocalE is a request. Nothing is agreed until the seller accepts it in the app. A seller may decline an order, or propose a change to it — different quantity, price or timing — which you can accept or reject. Once an order is accepted by both sides, it becomes an agreement between you and the seller.

Item descriptions, photographs and availability are supplied by the seller. Sellers are responsible for their accuracy.

4. Prices, fees and taxes

5. Payment

There are two ways to pay for an order on LocalE:

Because LocalE receives online payments before the seller does, refunds for those orders are issued by LocalE. How and when that happens is set out in our Cancellations & Refunds policy.

6. Delivery and collection

LocalE does not ship anything. Orders are collected by the buyer or delivered by the seller within their own local area. See Delivery & Collection for how timing, charges and service areas work.

7. What sellers are responsible for

8. What you may not do

Do not use LocalE to buy, sell, offer or advertise:

Also do not: impersonate anyone, harass or abuse other users, post false or misleading reviews, scrape or copy the platform's data, attempt to break or probe our systems, or use LocalE to send unsolicited marketing.

9. Reviews, photos and other content

You are responsible for what you post. Keep reviews honest and based on your own experience. Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or that reveals someone else's private information.

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you give LocalE permission to display and distribute it within the app and to store it for as long as your content is live. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

10. Suspension and closing your account

You can stop using LocalE at any time and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law. Where we can, we will tell you why.

11. Our liability

LocalE provides the platform. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or timeliness of anything a seller offers, and we are not a party to the order contract.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Subject to that, LocalE's total liability to you for any claim connected with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. It is a pilot service and may change or be unavailable.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use LocalE after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

14. Grievances and contact

If something has gone wrong, first raise it in the order chat with the seller. If that does not resolve it, write to us:

Grievance Officer, LocalE
Email: support@localeapp.in
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

We aim to acknowledge grievances within 2 working days and resolve them within 7.
